Shooot!!!

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth;
oh never mind;
You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.

But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself
and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you
and how fabulous you really looked…

You’re not as fat as you imagine.

Don’t worry about the future;
but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve
an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.

The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that
never crossed your worried mind;
the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.

Do one thing everyday that scares you.

Sing!

Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts,
don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.

Floss!

Don’t waste your time on jealousy;
sometimes you’re ahead,
sometimes you’re behind…
the race is long, and in the end,
it’s only with yourself.

Remember the compliments you receive,
forget the insults;
if you succeed in doing this,
please tell me how.

Keep your old love letters,
throw away your old bank statements.

Stretch!

Don’t feel guilty
if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…
The most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22
what they wanted to do with their lives,
some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t.

Get plenty of calcium.

Be kind to your knees,
you’ll miss them when they’re gone.

Maybe you’ll marry,
maybe you won’t,
maybe you’ll have children,
maybe you won’t,
maybe you’ll divorce at 40,
maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken
on your 75th wedding anniversary…

Whatever you do,
don’t congratulate yourself too much
or berate yourself either ….

Your choices are half chance,
so are everybody else’s.

Enjoy your body,
use it every way you can…
don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it,
it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own...

Dance…

even if you have nowhere to do it
but in your own living room.

Read the directions
, even if you don’t follow them.
Do NOT read beauty magazines,
they will only make you feel ugly.

Get to know your parents,
you never know when they’ll be gone for good.
Be nice to your siblings;
they are the best link to your past
and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.

Understand that friends come and go,
but for the precious few
you should hold on.

Work hard

to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle,
because the older you get,
the more you need the people
you knew when you were young.

Live in New York City once,
but leave before it makes you hard;
live in Northern California once,
but leave before it makes you soft.

Travel!

Accept certain inalienable truths:
prices will rise,
politicians will philander,
you too will get old,
and when you do,
you’ll fantasize that when you were young
prices were reasonable,
politicians were noble
and children respected their elders.
Respect your elders.

Don’t expect anyone else to support you.
Maybe you have a trust fund,
maybe you have a wealthy spouse;
but you never know
when either one might run out.

Don’t mess too much with your hair,
or by the time you're 40,
it will look 85.

Be careful whose advice you buy,
but,
be patient with those who supply it.

Advice is a form of nostalgia,
dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal,
wiping it off,
painting over the ugly parts and
recycling it for more than it’s worth.

Easy to do, Difficult to do...

Easy to Say but Difficult to Do

Easy is to get a place is someone's address book. Difficult is to get a place in someone's heart.

Easy is to judge the mistakes of others Difficult is to recognize our own mistakes

Easy is to talk without thinking Difficult is to refrain the tongue

Easy is to hurt someone who loves us. Difficult is to heal the wound...

Easy is to forgive others Difficult is to ask for forgiveness

Easy is to set rules. Difficult is to follow them...

Easy is to dream every night. Difficult is to fight for a dream...

Easy is to show victory. Difficult is to assume defeat with dignity...

Easy is to admire a full moon. Difficult to see the other side...

Easy is to stumble with a stone. Difficult is to get up...

Easy is to enjoy life every day. Difficult to give its real value...

Easy is to promise something to someone. Difficult is to fulfill that promise...

Easy is to say we love. Difficult is to show it every day...

Easy is to criticize others. Difficult is to improve oneself...

Easy is to make mistakes. Difficult is to learn from them...

Easy is to weep for a lost love. Difficult is to take care of it so not to lose it.

Easy is to think about improving. Difficult is to stop thinking it and put it into action...

Easy is to think bad of others Difficult is to give them the benefit of the doubt...

Easy is to receive Difficult is to give..

Easy to read this but Difficult to follow !

Easy is keep the friendship with words Difficult is to keep it with meanings

A Lesson in Life...

Love is an action of the heart.

The actions carried out by the limbs,

Can be somewhat limited in their expression,

Of the love a person’s heart really feels.

One can easily devote his/her heart

To another creature on the Earth,

But has one ever stopped to wonder…

What good does it bring about?

The feeling of misery

And restlessness in the heart…

Is that what one wants in life?

Is it really worth it?

Neglected is the Khaliq al makhlooq,

The Creator of all creations,

The One who created you from a clot of blood,

The One who is truly deserving of all devotion.

Ever dared to be a die hard aashiq…

Of The One from whom tranquility is granted?

Of The One who’s generosity is incomparable?

Of The One who’s love is incomparable?

Attaining the pleasure of Allah

Should be the one concern on our minds.

To become a true lover of Allah,

Is the achievement to make in life.

Yet, the question remains…

In what way can this goal be met?

Submission is progression.

And as I have been told,

Time and time again,

Focus and you will succeed.

It’s just the wind under your wings

To make you soar higher…

It's All About Attitude..

Attitude

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight.

I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.

Today I can complain because the weather is rainy....or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.

Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money....or I can be glad my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.

Today I can grumble about my health....or I can rejoice that I am alive.

Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up....or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.

Today I can cry because roses have thorns....or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.

Today I can mourn my lack of friends....or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new friendships.

Today I can whine because I have to go to work....or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do.

Today I can complain because I have to go to school....or eagerly open my mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge.

Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework....or I can feel honored because God has provided shelter for my mind, body and soul.

Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping.

What today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day I will have!

Have a great day....unless you have other plans.

Dua request Diary!

This is first for me before anyone else!!

Dua request Diray

Scrolling through the forums, posts and emails
One may find a continuous request both from males and females
Words that say "please make dua for me", "I need your dua", "dua needed"
But, how often are these requests ignored and heeded?

The response of the reader is usually "oh I'll make dua, I won't forget"
But, when a week has passed by, we remember the request and have a feeling of regret!
What do we do, we say we'll remember next time
But, when next time comes we commit the same crime

The power of dua is something we should not ignore
The moment we do this the Ummah will never be able to score
Score in terms of success
- spiritually, politically, and any field where we can be the best!

When a brother or sister asks for our help when they are in need, facing a trial, and in an upset mood
How beautiful is it to hear them asking for our help by not asking for money, shelter or food
But, by making a request that we remember them
by asking our Creator to remember them

Here's a solution that may not be great
But, the good news is it isn't boxed in a flat pack or in a crate
It doesn't require any money, any mental exertion, or any extra care
All it requires is a love for your brother/sister and remembrance that the Ummah is one body - when one of us hurts it hurts everywhere

So, next time you are sitting at your computer or laptop
Take a moment to remember and just stop
Take out that pen and paper and keep it by your side
When that dua request comes in, write it down - this way at least we can say we have tried...!!!
